Analyzing the Opening Titles of the film – Matthew Gomez /Trish Alexis
Define what an open sequence is and what its primary purpose is. The opening sequence of a film is meant to represent the plot, characters, and setting of the movie in only a few short minutes. The purpose of the opening sequence is to set the tone of the entire film to come and to attract the audience of your movie into watching the full thing.

Frame 1.
The director introduced the movie by having an establishing shot, It is still and focusing on the house. It is way to show that they are a middle-class family.

The directors introduce the family, getting along by having the three kids in the frame with Rory.

The director having wide shot with 6 subjects allows the audience to get the idea that the character Sam is a serious gymnast because there are others around her doing the sport.

It is using the rule of six to show the full scene of the shot.

The director having a medium close up shot on Allison, to show that she is serious about her job and she is alone in it.

Having Rory by self in wide shot, show that he is alone in himself and dealing with something serious.

This shot of Allison at her job, and the camera is aimed at her doing it. Shows how serious she takes it and she is passionate about it

It follows the subject as she does her job.

The director having the shot of Rory by himself, shows how mysterious he is.

It is a close up shot, that focuses on his face to show his emotions.

It is zoom in to see his face and stay still for a minute.

The director has this shot to show how they are as a family, by having it as a master shot.

It focuses on the family, by staying on this shot for a while.
