Target Audience – Matthew Gomez
Definition: The group of individual demographics who are most likely to be interested in a film.
Who are the people targeted for this film? Adult women, teenagers (15+), and thriller fans
Audience Type: The film will have a niche audience. A niche audience is a smaller population of movie watchers who consume movies that appeal to their specific interests rather than conventional interests, and our movie would have a niche audience because of our smaller, less accessible themes of depression and loneliness in young women.
Film Posters illustrating film examples
Identify the theme for each film and its audience. Example below.
Films | The Nest | The Guilty | Fractured |
Themes | Status and success | Doing the right thing | Trauma |
Target Audiences | Young adults(gen Z and millennials) | Family (from all backgrounds) | Young adults, teens, and low-income families |
Begin creating a PowerPoint presentation of your images to add to your blog. Then, present your film ideas for your film pitch presentation to the class on exam day.
(However, you need to be careful not to generalize. Horror films are not just for “young people.” Fill out the organizer below based on your group’s survey. See Canvas for sample survey questions.)
Analyze the research from your film examples and develop an audience for your film. Use the table below to identify your audience. ( See Canvas resources on module Q2: Week 6)
