Preliminary Exercise 3: Introduction to Mise en scene Organizer

-Introduction to the Elements of Mise en scene for the film inside out

The objective of today's assignment it was analyzing mise en scene, and it looks like in movies. What mise en scene is the elements in a shot or scene. With that being mise en scene it is important to learn because of the film I'm going to make. Learning abouts elements like acting, lighting, and set design these are things that send messages to the audience. With lighting it can show a character emotions or genre it is in. With genre, it is shown the movie I pick inside out 2. In the movie the main character Riley has emotion, with each emotion they have a color that represent it. So, they set in to show what Riley should feel in the scene. It relates to semiotics, because each sign it the movie have a connotation and denotation. For example, when Riley was about to be shown going into the hockey ring the excitement in her face gives the feeling that she is happy to play.

-Reflection

What I learn from mise en scene is that, when it come to a shot or scene everything matters. When it comes to lighting, costumes, and acting it matters. When it comes to these elements it is there to show a story and what the message is, with that I have to make sure what I put in the movie have meaning to the film. The example I use inside out shows how these shots is used to tell a story.
